THE POWER OF MINDFULNESS IN ADDICTION RECOVERY
People often think that eating, drinking, drugging, shopping and many other activities will make them happy.
And they do...for a while. But soon
many people become too attached to the substances and activities that once gave them comfort and they
become addicted to them.
MINDFULNESS helps to let go of addictions.
MINDFULNESS helps to shine a light on all of the 12 steps so that we can practice
them
more deeply, and can offer an alternative to the 12-step model.
MINDFULNESS deepens one's spirituality. Within weeks, people who regularly practice these techniques may notice an amazing differences in their lives.

A Bite of Mindfulness: an Introduction to Mindful Eating
Learn what it means to move from mindless eating to mindful eating and what that can mean for the health of your body. When is the last time you truly focused on the fuel that ensures that your heart beats and your brain thinks?
Mindful eating engages the five senses so that you fully enter into the experience of eating. To be mindful when eating is to appreciate and love what is going into your body.
Take part in this 2 hour, interactive presentation and learn what it means to practice Mindful Eating.
The course will be led by Dr. Julie Baumberger, one of our MBSR instructors.
