Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness is the gentle effort to be present with one's experience. This secular course teaches the basics of Mindfulness Meditation, including an examination of our attitudes and assumptions. You will learn skills for Mindfulness Meditation and the postures that will allow you to benefit the most from your practice. You will learn how to create and maintain a regular home practice. Breath awareness, body awareness, walking meditation and loving kindness meditation will be taught as well. Come join us and learn the skills and techniques that will undoubtedly help you uncover a more present, kinder and peaceful you.
The class consists of three sessions. You must register to attend. The classes will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church Library at 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota. Cushions and chairs will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing. Some scholarships are available.
