Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness is the gentle effort to be present with one's experience. This secular course teaches the basics of Mindfulness Meditation, including an examination of our attitudes and assumptions. You will learn skills for Mindfulness Meditation and the postures that will allow you to benefit the most from your practice. You will learn how to create and maintain a regular home practice. Breath awareness, body awareness, walking meditation and loving kindness meditation will be taught as well. Come join us and learn the skills and techniques that will undoubtedly help you uncover a more present, kinder and peaceful you.
The class consists of two sessions. You must register to attend (see link below). The classes will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church Library at 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota. Cushions and chairs will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing. The cost for the class is $40 (cash, check, Pay Pal or credit card) paid in advance or at the door. (If paying by check, send check to Sarasota Mindfulness Institute, Box 15168, Sarasota, Fl 34277-1168). Some scholarships are available.
Because this class fills up quickly, you must register ahead of time and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
