The holidays are often a time when people overindulge in food and drink. This workshop is for those who have struggled with food—eating too much or too fast, eating while under stress, or eating to fill emotional needs. It’s possible to change such patterns through mindful awareness!
Each class includes time for mindfulness meditation instruction and practice related specifically to food and the process of eating. There will be time for discussion, questions, and special topics, such as exploring pleasant and unpleasant eating experiences, the 6 BASICS of mindful eating, and how we both sabotage and nurture ourselves with food.
The lead instructor, Lily Myers, MA, is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and meditation teacher with 25 years of experience leading groups in a variety of settings. Lisa Patterson, MA, LPC, CT, RYT-200, who is also a counselor by trade, is the assistant teacher for the workshop.
This Sarasota Mindfulness Institute program is being held via Zoom for three consecutive Monday evenings.
