Online Movement Classes
Movement classes are online Zoom classes only, taught by Nancy Saum, retired RN.
Movement is meditation in motion. Our Mindful Movement practice is thriving on
Zoom. About 10-15 people join Nancy to practice Qigong and Tai Chi Easy on Wednesday
mornings at 10:00am. On 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, Qigong. On 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, Tai Chi
Easy. When there is a 5th Wednesday, Guo Lin Walking. No prior experience is needed.
A single class is $7.50 or $20 for the entire month.
NOTE: No Qigong or Tai Chi classes for the month of May. Classes will resume on June 7.
This practice may be described as moving meditation, with coordinated slow flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a focused meditative state of mind. Qigong is now practiced throughout China and worldwide for recreation, exercise, relaxation, disease prevention, self-healing, meditation and self cultivation. No prior Qigong experience required.
Class Time: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays, 10-11am EST
Tai Chi Easy™
Tai Chi Easy™ is a blend of simple medical Qigong techniques with carefully chosen Tai Chi exercises that are accessible to anyone, from the very fit to those confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery. As you move, you breathe deeply and naturally, focusing your attention — just as you do in mindfulness meditation — on breath and bodily sensations. If you are new to the practice of Tai Chi, it is recommended that you begin with the Qigong class.
Class Time: 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, 10-11am EST
CLASS FEE: $7.50 per class if paying by the single class, or $20 if paying by the month (4-5 classes).
