The Wings of Mindfulness

This 4-part online class will include lecture and discussion on consecutive Tuesday evenings in May. Lynne will guide us in an exploration of the wings of mindfulness: the wing of the mind (thoughts and emotions); and the wing of the heart (friendliness, compassion, gratitude, and joy). The interactions of these two wings, using the body as the touchstone, lead to equanimity and a softening of reactivity (which some say is the process of "awakening" in daily life). Heart practices provide a base of well-being when internal critical thoughts pass through the mind, when we find ourselves in difficult situations; with mindfulness, we can choose to respond rather than to react.
