Introduction to Mindfulness

Meditation is the gentle effort to be present with one's experience.  This secular course teaches the basics of mindfulness in daily life and mindfulness meditation, including an examination of our attitudes and assumptions.  You will learn about taking Mindful Moments in your daily life and skills for Mindfulness Meditation (can be just 5 to 10 minutes a day!).  You will learn how to create and maintain a regular home practice.  Breath awareness, body awareness, walking meditation and loving kindness/gratitude  meditations will be taught as well.  Come join us and learn the skills and techniques that will undoubtedly help you uncover a more present, kinder and peaceful you. 


WHEN:       Sept. 13, 20, and 27, 2021

TIME:          7:00 - 8:30 pm

WHO:         This class is for adults interested in learning the basics of mindfulness meditation.

TEACHER:  Lisa Patterson, MA, LPC, CT, RYT-200

COST:          $30 for the course (three evenings).  Some scholarships are available.
